Ruffles' Turn

A few weeks ago, Ruffles was at the vet to check for a urinary tract problem...bladder stones or a UTI, we suspected. Her tests were all normal but in the exam my vet found a lump under her tail which turned out to be a mast cell tumor. Again. Ruffles is my third dog to have one, and my sixth to have some form of cancerous tumor. So far, we've been lucky and the surgeons have been able to remove them all successfully. I'm hoping the same will be true for Ruffles. The surgeon who will do the surgery is the same one who removed the tumor from Flurry's jaw a year ago and Misty's spleen with the tumor in March. She's getting to know us well.

I'd appreciate any and all good thoughts and prayers on Tuesday for Ruffles. 🙏

Just finally home, Ann. You know I'll be thinking of you both on Tuesday. You have a fabulous surgeon and it's not a big tumor. My feeling is she will be FINE. Lots of prayers going up for you both.

Ruffles' surgery today went well and she's home. She's sporting the dreaded donut, but was very happy to see some chicken and rice for dinner. The doctor said surgery went well and she got margins she was happy with. Next the tumor will go out for biopsy and the results will be back in about a week.

Ruffles sends some soft wags to everyone for their good wishes!
