Rug Digging

I should say that Emma does not dig the rug. If I happen to sit on the floor or the couch, she attacks my leg with her front paws and just digs away. Not sure what she is planning though.

Molly will do it but only after she eats, and she will lie on her side and dig with her front paws....its funny to watch her go to town with only using her front legs...im assuming its her equivalent of nice meal thanks mom!!!

That is JUST what Revel does, it's funny watching it!!!

I've remembered when Revel was a pup he ate/dug a big hole in the carpet - I hid it for ages with a rug over it as I was living with relations:uhoh:
Thankfully we still get on:winkgrin:

Every once in a while Cali will do this when she is trying to find a spot to lay down. Before she lays down she will do 1 or 2 paw "scratches" and then she walks 3 small circles before plopping her butt down and making a huge waaaaaaay over exagerated exhalation of breath like she has just had the worst day of her life! It really threw us for a loop during potty training because she does the exact same "potty dance" as we call it before she makes a poo! Poor thing was just looking to lay down most of the time and we were rushing her out the door! LOL she would just look at us like "WHAT DID I DO?!?!?!" Every once in a while she will catch me off guard and I have to jump up and watch her just to make sure something bad is not about to happen

She only does it when we are in the basement where we have a heavy duty short carpet or when she is in her cage. Most of the time she is just trying to re-arrange the her blankets in the cage though so she can get comfortable.:razz:

I totally forgot about my psycho cat while I was posting that! Baxter.. now HE is a digger! Every night around 9pm or so he goes on a house wide FREAK-OUT spree.. He starts by running laps around the house and stops every once in a while to paw like crazy where ever he is standing. Then he runs to the back of all the furniture and does the same thing. On our love seat he pushes hard enough for you to feel it through the cushions if you are sitting in it! Then he goes and hides to catch his breath I guess for a few seconds and then fires across the house again. He does this like 4 or 5 times and then he goes right to his safe spot and goes to sleep  When we have people over who don't know him they think he is on some serious drugs when he does it LOL! It drives Cali crazy because she can't maneuver quite as fast as he can and usually ends up either knocking something over or slamming into the wall trying to keep up :eek2: :dead:

He is called "The Bread Maker" because when he is not being crazy, he will climb up in your lap and knead your stomach.. or.. well.. females call him a pervert because he won't stay out of a womans shirt LOLOL!

I swear I did not teach him to do that!

Mya is not much of a rug digger but she is definitley a couch digger.
These couches are over 20 years old and we had to throw the large one away earlier this year. So..it's no biggie for me (kids can ruin couches much faster than the dog).
When Mya gets playful...thats when the couch gets a beatin'.

Little late but this brought back memories with Lady. She loved to dig. As little as she was when I brought her home, she dug up a wall to wall, then used her teeth to pull it up more. A tough one at 3lbs. 9oz. I could not believe what I was seeing from such a small tot.

I had a live tree in the front room, well she dug in that. She dug out the flowers in the back as I was planting.

She stopped just because I didn't take my eyes off of her, never had a digger before she came along, and didn't expect it.

I put a cover on her bed pillow, so now all she does is dig in that. We had stern talks and debates til she quit with the rugs and dirt. Believe me Lady is a persistent little girl, good thing I love her. I'm just more persistent then her.
