Sad News

Zulu had his cancer checkup yesterday. The tumor has grown slightly but is still not obstructing his ability to empty his bladder. Urine shows a little blood and white blood cells, but no UTI. Vet says that this is normal with cancer. Other than that, the vet gave him a clean bill of health. The only issue I see is he spends more time outside trying to empty his bladder. Occasionally wakes me up in the middle of the night to go outside. Vet says that this is part of the progress, eventually this will become a quality-of-life issue. Hopefully, not any time too soon.

I had years of Gavin post finding cancer.... that guy was definitely never denied anything. He was going to the beach the week before he passed, even if it was in cart. In some ways, it is easier knowing their time is on a clock so you make sure they get all the love they can take. And they don't know anything is wrong until the end.

Give Zulu a big nose kiss from me!

You’re absolutely right Cindy…it was the same with Riley. Knowing he had cancer I made every day like it was his last. I try to do that with Piper as well…he’s doing great but you just never know!

I'm glad the overall report is decent, Riky. I hope you can put his diagnosis in the back of your mind since it sounds like he's acting pretty normally. It's such a bear knowing something is wrong with them that you can't fix, but as much as you can focus on happy times together, that's what counts. Hugs to you and a pat for Zulu.
