Said goodbye yesterday

I apoligize for not sending my condolences sooner. It is always hard to lose a beloved fur-friend.

I am very sorry for your loss. I am crying as I write this. I wish they could stay with us forever. I believe you will see Smoky again, and you can finish up your course certifications.

So sorry

I'm mourning with you, went through it in July and still miss my baby girl sheltie. I take comfort in thinking of her and the other shelties running and barking and chasing balls and having a grand old Sheltie time in Heaven.

I am so sorry for your loss. You did the right thing, but the first one is always the most difficult. My husband and I lost our first trio of Shelties a year apart. Cody, our very first gal, passed in September 2008, followed by our first tri boy Elvis in September 2009. Our tiny little gal Sassafras, who held a very special place in our hearts, developed heart disease and passed in October 2010. I still tear up thinking of her laying on our vet's sofa as she drifted away. Leaving her behind was nearly impossible for us. So glad we only had a 2 mile drive home.

Before Sassafras passed we had adopted a cheerful little male Sheltie we named Bentley. Someone had given him up when he was just 1.5 years old. So at least we didn't come home to an empty house. We're now back up to three Shelties after adopting another male named Murphy and bringing home our first blue merle that we christened Zoey. There isn't a day that I don't see fur floating in the air or drifting into the corners and dog Frisbees strewn about, but we don't mind because they give us such joy. Hopefully, someday soon you'll open your heart up to another Sheltie and begin to heal. Best wishes...

Yeah we have 2 shelties(and 8 parrots :biggrin2:) at home still so the house definitely isn't empty. There's no way I'd have an empty house with no animals.
