Sandstorms first shampoo

The Cowboy Magic says to use on wet or dry hair, but I really never groom Spencer dry. At the least, I use a mister to dampen his coat before I rub on the CM. I'm in Hanson which is about halfway between Boston and the mid-Cape.
Let me know if you ever come to the Cape with your Spencer!

Thankyou all for your replies on shampoo and conditioner (I now know not to use one). The Vets Best shampoo has no scent at all, I can't wait to see Sandstorm all wet !!!

Mane and Tale is a good generic shampoo. I don't like shampoos that have heavy perfume smells, which a lot of dog shampoos seem to. Don't worry about a conditioner, you want the coat harsh to repel dirt.

I have never actually used this on my dogs, but the lady who does my Mom's hair suggested she use it for her own hair! The lady told her if you have thin or thinning hair, that Mane and Tail shampoo will plump your hair up some. If it works for people and horses, I'm sure it would do good for dogs.

When people ask her where she buys her shampoo she tells them the pet aisle.

I'm not a believer in over bathing the pups. Mine get a full meal deal about every3 to 4 months, and for that they go the the groomer.

In between, I use Show Off! dry shampoo and Ice on Ince leave in conditioner. And I trim and snip nails and fur as well.

You've gone 12 months without a full bath. That says that either you have a high tolerance or your baby just does not get terribley stinky.

I outsource whatever I can in my life. Do yourself a favour and outsource the 2 x per year full bath! That's my advise!

Sandstorm just doesn't smell- except for yesterday when he pooped and "missed", if you know what I mean. I have just used dry shampoo all year, and washed his butt more than a few times! I also "wash" his mane and feet, and brush all the time. We gave him a bath this a.m., he cried! The hose was too cold, so we used a bucket to rinse him off. He was really good about it, and he looked so cute all wet. I just don't know if he will need more baths than once a year unless he really rolls around in mud- maybe it is because all we have here is sand- no clay or thick mucky mud.
I can't imagine him in the bath tub in the winter- he would be scared to death.
