scared gavins dotage is ending

I am crying for you here, Cindy, as many of us are I’m sure. Gavin has been so lucky ro have you to love and care for him…no dog ever had a better life. I’m so sorry if his time with you is over, but know that he loves you and trusts you to know what’s best for him. Sending you many hugs.

Crying reading this, heart is breaking for you. So many of us love Gavin from afar. I cannot imagine your pain at this point.

You made no mistake, LOVE led your decisions. With so much in life, we just can't look back and beat ourselves up about what we 'could' have done or 'should' have done. I've been reading your posts on Gavin since I first started stalking the forum, before I joined.

Whatever you choose, your decision will be what is best for you both. Please give Gavin a kiss from Brodie, Deacon and I.

You are in my thoughts...

Oh Cindy I am so incredibly sorry! My heart breaks for you…You have always given Gavin 1000%, you’ve always done everything and anything he needed…that boy has had so much love in his life!
We all know this day is coming for our dogs but nothing prepares us for it…you are in my thoughts and prayers right now:hugs

I wish I had some magic words to make your pain go away but unfortunately I do not. I do not believe luck brought you and Gavin together; I believe that you were meant for each other. As such, you knew him best and you made the best decisions for him. Take comfort in the fact that he will always be a part of you, and that he will take part of you with him to wherever the next stage for him is. Oberon and I, and all of my family, wish you and your family, two-legged or four-legged or three-legged, the comfort and peace you all deserve.

Dear St. Francis, on your doorstep sits a beautiful Sheltie. In his seventeen years, this gorgeous boy taught more people how to live life to the fullest than a thousand philosophers. Gavin is courage personified, battling cancer with a joie de vivre that scoffed at the idea that illness should get in the way of an abundant life. I know he's going to be a great help to you in bringing comfort to new arrivals to that heavenly Bridge. Right now, though, his Mom is grieving so deeply that it seems the sun will never shine again. Please, bring her comfort and peace. Help her to see that, like Layla, Gavin's work has not ended. Joyful memories of his life will continue to brighten everyone he touched. Grant her peace, and help Gavin whisper to her that she made every single day of his life a poem and a song. May the Good Shepherd bring solace to us all as we bid Gallant Gavin farewell.
In His name we ask,
Amen
