Scary situation at obedience class

I do that too but at trials we do soft sided crates so this has never been an issue. I'll definitely either bring a towel or use something of my trainers.
while I prefer soft crates, after years of being in one, Cran busted out. thankfully at an indoor venue so he didn't get anywhere.....
and then Jocu put a hole in the mesh door of a soft crate and got his head stuck. silly dogs.........
and all crates have always been covered.....

Silly me, I put Finnie in the soft crate when he was around 6 months old (he'd been good in it)...he proceeded to chew a big hole in the screen! Fortunately Gorilla brand (the glue maker) has a really good tape that can repair rips in tents and gazebo covers and it worked great on the screen.
Lesson learned lol.

Scary! Never thought of something like that with a crate. A towel, yes, and a special toy that is only used during the crate time at training class.

Oh my goodness Sharon, that's awful! So many things we have to be vigilant for! I lock ALL my gates, no collars in the house, no escape routes under fence (I triple checked) and I'm super cautious at a dog show now! So many animal rights extremists and thieves!
I padlock the crates to each other, and padlock them shut at dog shows. The only way to steal my dogs is to walk off with 2 30 inch crates that are locked to each other. And then you still have to cut the locks to get the dogs out. I hate that we live in a world where this is a concern, but we do......
