setback with Ember

I'm so sorry to hear this and particularly sorry for you that you have a few more days of waiting and not knowing. Hoping for the very best outcome.

What about leashing Ember to you while you walk around the house ?

Oh dear!! Tears of frustration on your part, I'm sure! No second guessing though - you did everything you could. Add me to all those hoping it's not so bad that you have to start over from scratch.

Poor Ember! She just seems like such neat dog and what a character. Sending good energy your way!

Thanks everyone. I am feeling a lot less guilty today. I am wondering now what went wrong,it doesn't seem right that she tore it with such little effort. :confused2: Suture failure or tissue failure? Maybe I should have been told to keep it in the cast longer.

The surgeon is out of town until Fri and I have one of his first appointments so I couldn't get in any eariler. As it is, nothing else can be done anyway even if she tore it again, we'll have to wait for the swelling to go down again before fixing it.

I kept her on a leash 99% on the time in the house. This was the 1 time she wasn't. She was quite used to the cast by the time it came off I guess I'm insisting that it stay on for a full 6 wks next time. That is what Justice got with his partial flexor tendon tear. I am so tired of dealing with tendon/ligament injuries. Both of them were freak accidents. One fell in a hole and one chasing bunnies. Both just being dogs. Argh! I just realized both of them were 5yrs old. :(

Ember doesn't care, she got a carprofen and is snoozing away. :smile2:

I am so sorry to hear that Ember has reinjured her leg. I'm hoping for the best....maybe just a strain and swelling and the ligament is still intact.

So sorry to hear this, sounds like you where close to the end of treatment. Trying to keep them calm is next to impossible. My pup Paladin has a hurt wrist and now we are hoping it is soft tissue vs fracture. Trying to keep him calm is impossible.
