Shaved Sheltie

My Watson just had his whole right side shaved, from the middle of his back, down to the midline of his belly from just behind his white ruff to just in front of his hind legs. It's been about a month and a half and it is close to an inch in length at this point. Right now it is mostly undercoat but I did notice some guard hairs growing on his withers.

If it's anything like us, you will all of a sudden notice that the hair has grown and covered the skin. Once there is some there and it's not just skin, it won't look so horrible. Every couple of days it has been seeming to have grown more. I did have someone ask if I had just had him groomed :rolleyes2:.

The doctor had told us that if she was ever under anesthesia it would be simple for her to cut the deposit out, and it wouldn't come back. So my husband wanted to have them to this. When we picked her up this afternoon, and she ran out to me, I started crying. They hadn't just shaved a couple of small spots around the incision but had shaved 2 great big patches.

Rocky passed last year, but when I rescued him several years ago, he was completely shaved; I presume it was because of severe matting. These pictures are meant to raise your spirits. within 6 months, his hair had recovered....

Tucker suffered a spinal stroke July 1, he has such a heavy thick coat I had to "shave" him, and by shaving I mean I took thinning shears to his body, essentially giving him a "puppy" cut. he looks really cute now :) and he doesnt seem to mind missing all that coat
