Sheltie Allergies?

Actually, he is doing much better! We had a few days that there was frost on the grass so I think it was cold enough to kill the fungus. He is still on Benadryl but not going after his feet or scratching so much! He gets another bath tomorrow!

Poor Remy. Elliot used to get goopy, irritated eyes. Turns out he had dry eyes. We did over the counter eye drops per the vet’s instruction and he did just fine after that. He also episodically took Claritin. I’d check it out with the vet.

Great to see he's doing better Gloria!

Well, have to eat my words...
Yesterday was a beautiful sunny crisp fall day! After cutting the lawn I thought I would let the boys romp in the yard... the full grassy areas that Liam has been restricted from! Well, they had a blast zooming around the yard! Took them a good 20 minutes before they got tired out chasing the frisbee and each other.
Later in evening I noticed Liam going after his rear paws again! Gezzz, one day of fun and now this! Not fair!
Asked him to go into the basement for a medicated foot bath. He was such a trooper and let me wash his feet and dry them. Put a medicated foam on his feet too and so far he is not going after them.
So much for letting him have fun!:(

Poor Liam Gloria...that must be so frustrating for you! What about putting some booties on him when he's outside? I use the Pawz in the winter for Piper and Finnie, they look like little balloons and stay on really good. Not so much for warmth but to keep the snow out of their pads. Maybe something like that would help to limit his exposure to whatever he's allergic to?

Funny thing is, I purchased booties for him! I just assumed since we had a couple of days that were freezing it killed the fungus... I was wrong...
No more outside play without boots!

Not your fault Gloria! Who wouldn't let their dogs run and play on a nice day? You must really have to change your whole way of thinking when your dog has allergies! I remember with my last girl I had to put socks on her when she went outside. Winter was good for her, spring and summer and fall not.
