I have booties for Edan (lots of road salt and no sidewalks aren't good for Sheltie paws).
The way I trained him to wear them was to put the two front ones on for about a minute, click/treat, then remove them. (We use clicker training.) About 15 minutes later I put them on again for a slightly longer time, click/treat, removed. As we worked up to 5 minutes, I started to encourage him to follow me around - making him walk with the booties on, click/treat, remove.
Once he was semi-comfortable with the front feet, I added the back and started the process all over again.
He never fully liked putting them on but one day out on a walk he took off into the snow (we were at a park with a walking trail and a wide open field) and ran around for a little while with the booties on. He'd forgotten all about them.
While I did this with the booties, I don't see why a similar process couldn't work with the boots.
