Sheltie Coat Question

What a pretty little guy. I would totally be in love too. You did a great thing getting him into a proper home and it's clear he knows he was waiting for you.

I would love a "smooth" sheltie. The shorthairs are way more fun, esp. since I go to the forest all the time and those pine needles are crazy on the longhair.

You could try the Doggy DNA. I did the Wisdom Panel one on my shepherd mix. I wanted something semi-official because his head can look wide and people might say he's a pit/shepherd even though the shelter got the parents and puppies so I knew. They were right. It might just satisfy your curiosity.
 
He is a cutie!! He has the looks of a smooth border collie to me. I had one before she was a small bc at 34 pounds.
 
He's adorable, congrats! I'd say he's now looking like a sheltie/border collie mix to me. Make sure you get that boy a job! Doesn't have to be agility, but I bet he'd make a great agility dog.
 
He is a cutie! He looks like he has some Catahoula in him and not heeler. Either way, so glad you rescued him!
