My husband thought up the wild boar bit. The shading is mostly a dorsal stripe to a dark tail. He is fuzzy right now and it just pokes out every direction.

However, I think his name Little Red Caboose, Cubby call name, and nickname is going to land as Bats since he is going to be Bat Sheltie!

Saw a 1-800-PetMeds commercial and thought of Baker. You need to get that puppy an agent!

Welcome Ashbrooke -- I will race you for the biggest pup in the end. . . I am hoping we don't go over 18" but I have a feeling we are going to be 21" which is almost as big as my shepherd mix.

11 weeks, 12 inches, 9 pounds.
11 1/2 weeks, 13 inches, 9.8 pounds.

Jeez.

wow! At 8 weeks Ruutu was 10" and 10 lbs but he's huge.

Your Ruutu sounds like he and Maverick will be similar!

Yep, I got me a ginormous, rangy, raccoon-eyed, dark blazed, shaded like a wild boar piglet, pet quality, smart, outgoing, possibly future prick-eared, sheltie and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Nor would I! Dickens is one fantastic dog, and I'm thoroughly taken by him, unlike any other dog I've ever owned.

That hasn't stopped Dickens's little Schipperke friend Callie from ruling the roost. I think big dogs tend to be mellower than the smaller ones. Dickens lets Callie walk all over him, and doesn't seem to mind it all; in fact, I think he positively enjoys it!

I agree with this. My parents sheltie who is around the same age as Ruutu is about 13 1/2" and Ruutu is 17 3/4". Ruutu is much more calmer than Donner and he lets Donner do whatever to him. Ruutu just rolls around and goes with it. It's awesome watching the two play.
