Yee-uck!

My GSD used to do that. I kept scolding her every time I saw her doing it and she actually quit doing it.:biggrin2: I don't know if Treader would do it or not. I don't have a cat anymore. There are two staying in my room for a friend (they will leave in a couple of months), but Treader isn't allowed in my room. (He's not good with cats.)

I agree- too funny.
At Christmas when we were up north, I caught Callie eating some poop pops but I haven't seen her doing that down here in the warm south.
 
cat poo

Griffin loves cat poo, although he doesn't seem to eat it so much as dig through the litter, find the "buried treasure" and move it to the floor... we use a ceder litter and you can always tell when he's been "digging for gold" because he has chips stuck to his nose...:biggrin2:
 
Sparky Does Like Poop

Unfortunately, Sparky, my tri, eats poop. With all the dogs we've had, we've never had one that did this, until Sparky, LOL!

We tried a couple of different food additives to help prevent his eating feces, but no dice, it didn't work.

So, we just try and keep "it" picked up and out of harm's way.
 
Fresh Is Best!

Poop eating is one of Sadie WORST habits. She's particularly gross about it too. She'll eat other animal's poop if given the chance but her favorite is her own. (She won't touch another dog's poop, which is I guess a good thing.) What makes this even grosser, she wants it fresh and warm, she won't touch it if its been on the ground for a while.

I've scolded her for it but it doesn't make a difference, if anything it made it worse, she'd just try eating it faster. I haven't tried taste deturrents, I heard that they often don't work.

What I do doesn't stop the problem completely but it seems to discourage it greatly. Sadie simply receives treats every time she comes in from doing her business. Despite keeping the treats very small, luckily, treats taste better than poo and I'd defintely rather she eat treats. We still have to make sure the yard is clean and we have to keep an eye on her in the summer when she wants to be outside more, but it at least happens way less often. :rolleyes2:

Yep, I'd have to rush over to pick it up or Buttons would see just how fast she could eat it. The absolute worst thing about it was there was 2 or 3 times that she got sick in the house after eating it. There is nothing that smells worst then poop puke.
 
Treader's never done it (eat poop:dead:), but if I caught Treader doing it, I'd distract him with something appropiate to eat and then praise him for eating that something else.
I've never really have to use it yet though.:biggrin2:
 
Me too

My guy goes for his fresh warm poop too. Immediately after he's done going he spins around really fast and eats it. He's not interested in anything that's been out there long enough to cool. We tried for-Bid and it didn't work. Up until now all I've been able to do is pull him away with the leash. I spoke to a dog trainer and she suggested keeping a stash of treats in my pocket and when he goes, have him come to the treat instead of the poop. I haven't tried this yet though because I keep forgetting to put treats in my pocket! :lol: It makes sense though.
