My first Sheltie, Timber shredded my couches - just when I thought it was safe to no longer crate him. And yeah, it was around 8 months that he did it.
*Gasp!*
Fingers crossed that none of my dogs every shred my couch...

Justice never chewed anything up ever and he is 10.5yrs old. Of course, he was the perfect puppy/dog. He never had a trying period but then there aren't many like him.
Ember chewed up leashes, cell phone cords and whatever she could get her little mouth on . After about 14 months, she never chewed up things again. She also tried my patience for along time.
Diva, puppy form hell, everything in her mouth, too much energy for her own good. She is pretty good now but will still go after paper, ie books when bored.
Still waiting for Birch to stop putting everything in his mouth. If not watched 24/7 , in it goes. His brain has still not come in the mail for the most part.
All of them raised the exact same way. So yep it is the indivdual dog.
Olive's brain has apparently been lost in the mail as well. My son is always chatising me for not getting the 'brain option' when I picked out a puppy.
We love her nonetheless, but I'll be glad when she gets over her craziness!I see a genetic link for crazy behaviorOlive's brain has apparently been lost in the mail as well. My son is always chatising me for not getting the 'brain option' when I picked out a puppy.

I seem to be very layed back about the "teenage stage". I let the older adults handle the discipline. The younger dogs are in charge of running them ragged. Then ta-da! One day, I look at them, and they are well behaved, biddable inquisitive optomistic little dogs. So, I enter them in a dog show! LOL!
Now, I don't know if Tofu Pup would give you the same version. She tends to comment that I need to get them under control. But,everyone of them has turned out perfect!![]()
