My husband's cat is trained to walk on a leash in a harness to go outside. Actually, the cat will follow my husband on a walk outside without a harness AND comes when called (95% of the time).
I really don't like it that Freddie is an indoor/outdoor cat, since I worry about him getting hurt whenever he is out, but that's how he was raised and at 11 years old, he's a bit too old (and set in his ways) to retrain him to be only indoors. At least Freddie is only allowed outside when we are home and it is light outside (and we have a lot of land behind our home for him to roam). Now I just need to get Freddie to accept me as 'family'
