Snickers found a food He Adores

The lady who owns the shop I buy my food at carries this but she is not sure about the grain part of it or the rosemary excract. Said we would talk it ove the next time I am in there.

My partner and I are toying around with starting our own pet food line. I feel like the need is there for a quality food -- it would be dehydrated and then the canned would be canned in actual glass. We're learning all we can about nutrition and plan to take some classes on holistic nutrition for canines and learn more about the cooking side since we feed raw. We know there's a lot of regulations (well, not as many as there should be) but it's totally something I'm passionate about so we'll see! I'll let you know ;)

, as much as your alarmist and irrational views on something's annoy me, I think you and Erin would be great at this! Just don't forget about the little people when you two make it big!

Sorry, didn't mean to go off topic :hide

It does sound like a better grain based food. The only questionable ingredient was molasses which is not good for dogs with sugar problems and then there was yeast a concern for breeds prone to bloat. I think they also wished they had added probiotics. I got my info from dog food advisor website.

I got more info on the subject:

CANE MOLASSES
Molasses is a natural sugar. Molasses is high in Iron and significant amounts of Vitamins and Minerals.

SELENIUM
Selenium is an essential trace metalloid helping the activation of enzymes critical for cellular health.

Selenium is incorporated into proteins to make selenoproteins, which are important antioxidant enzymes. The antioxidant properties of selenoproteins help prevent cellular damage from free radicals. Free radicals are natural by-products of oxygen metabolism that may contribute to the development of chronic diseases such as cancer and heart disease. Other selenoproteins help regulate thyroid function and play a role in the immune system.

That's so awesome if you think about it. I don't know if I see that on any other dog food -- do you know of any others that claim that?

Also, Sheltieguy -- I recently applied for a Court Reporting position in Schuylkill, PA! I have a great friend in that area! I decided not to move to PA but it's always on the list as the job is still open! SMALL WORLD!
