So I have some news~

Went to the park tonite with Trapp. And thought gee..I could utilize some obstacles there. So they have a row of trees..and I used them to do some weaves.
Then onto walking the path, then doing walk, stop, sits, downs. I also worked on his heel, which definately needs work. Doing left turns, right turns, circles etc. He really seemed to enjoy himself.
We did however create a small group of people just watching. So the distraction was good, and he really did not pay any mind to it.

We are beginners at Rally too. Both boys just got their first level title at APDT rally this past weekend. I would say do not get engrossed in those signs yet. Best thing I have found helpful is to teach perch work and you can find tons of youtube clips, I know kikopup teaches it for sure. Hopefully facility you will train will have open mind and let you have fun too. Because it is most important.

What fun today!

Since we got rained out last Tuesady, today we went to the outside training area in town.
Well..I'll tell you, what fun we had today. Of course I was really nervous not knowing anyone,or even the area. I was quite nervous about letting Trapp off leash, but the guys assured me,the whole place was securely fenced, even places far out,was fenced. So Trapp was going no wheres.

The whole set up has been all built by hand,or with help from welding company in town, and every piece of equipment was really solid.

We spent alot of time talking, but the PBGV's were over the top in excitement with the new comer! There was also an Aussie (Rush) and both Trapp & him took to each other like they were brothers.

We did alot today,my mind nearly whirling at times. But Trapp did so well, even going thru the tunnel 3x,and showing no fear. Tom was quite impressed with him. He said it takes some dogs 3 or 4 weeks to even think of going thru.

He did attempt on his own to go up the A-Frame,but only went part way,and jumped off. He surprised me,all of a sudden he was up there. Silly boy.
He did all the low jumps, went thru the tire, and we worked on weaves as well.
All in all a really fun day.
