Stealing Dirty Tissues

tissues and socks

That reminds me of Sandy. He will tear up tissues, newspapers, anything you leave with him. The really funny thing he does is “steal” things he knows you need so you will chase him. His favourite thing is socks. He will grab socks right out of your hands when putting them on (or out of a fresh laundry basket) and then take off like a bat out of h--- enormously pleased with himself (ha ha ha Ha!) It's frustrating but adorable. He does the same thing with mittens... my sister has started putting her mittens in a zippered compartment in her purse. Before she did that he would stick his head right in her purse, grab her mittens and run off with them! He knows she has to get them from him (therefore chase him and “play”) before she leaves the house.

Well I am relieved to know this isn't just a labrador thing! Cadbury is a horror for this, but he specifically likes tissues I have used.

He steals them and has a good munch. Thankfully if I tell him off he will leave the bin along (mostly).

I broke down and bought a garbage can with a lid for our bedroom last night. This is a battle we're going to opt out of, its just not worth the fight. :rolleyes2:

Tissues need to be removed and spread around but it is the Q Tips that I want

Sca :uhoh:

Haha, maybe that's what Toby is looking for. Thankfully we already had garbage can with a lid in the bathroom, goodness knows what he'd be dragging around the house if he could get in there. :lol:

I got a covered one in the main bathroom and before I could get second one for the other he had figured out how to open it. I think it is harder to get stuff if it is mostly empty but he has gotten into it at least once. Not sure if he noses it or steps on it but I can hear the lid thumping.

Bentley can do this, too. We have covered trash cans in the bathroom, but the best defense for us is to just keep the bathroom door shut.

That shouldn't be a problem for Toby, he never has access to the garbage cans long enough to get the lids off. We have a 1 1/2 story house so the bathroom and bedrooms are upstairs. We have a door at the top of the stairs that we keep closed most of the time, otherwise they use our bed as a trampoline. :lol:

so whose sheltie steals the tissue as you are trying to blow your nose?
My sweet little Dixie :uhoh::o
would be better if she waited until I was done :winkgrin:
