Steroid Side Effects

Like Cushing's disease, steroids cause excess levels or cortisol in bloodstream. Once the steroids are stopped, she should go back to her normal behavior.

Another symptom of excess cortisol is excessive drinking, so make sure to give her plenty of potty breaks.

Ask your vet about Vanectyl P. It is mostly antihistamine with a very small amount of steroid. Should work on a flea allergy to control itching with less side effects.
