Stomach Issues

Even if he hasn't been outside he could have eaten something "inside" the house.....mine ate an higyenic towel of my daughter and he had diarrhea and we only realized when we saw him pooping it two days later! :eek2::ick

How is your boy today? I know you worry like I do about Liam after their obstructions.

He threw up 2 nights ago--and yesterday I fed him some plain pasta and he was fine. We dropped him off at the vet's this morning, so hopefully we'll get some answers, but who knows.

Thanks for asking!

Keeping your Bentley on my prayer list.

Please continue to update us on Bentley, when you are able to. Thank You.

Thanks for the words of encouragement, guys.

After the vet visit we feel much better. X-ray showed no obstruction, blood work was good (slightly elevated albumin). The vet did say he saw a little inflammation in his small intestine, but not that bad. We went home with antibiotics and a probiotic. The idea is that if we don't see improvement in a week or so we will go back for more tests.

The good news is that he hasn't thrown up since his vet visit :)

A little worried though because he had lost 4 lbs since his last visit to the vet (though he maybe was a touch over where he should have been at the time). So we are tasked with putting a couple pounds back on him (he is pleased!)

Jack

My Jack is going through the same thing right now. A blood test showed that he is losing protein in his blood so we have had a stool sample to check for parasites, a urine sample to check kidneys, an ultrasound to check for tumors, and this week we are trying endoscopy to check the cells in the lining of his intestines. I guess that my point is that there are a variety of reasons that could be causing Bentley's stomach problems and with time and tests the vet will figure it out. Please know that I completely understand how tough the "waiting game" is and I'm thinking of you and hoping your vet finds the problem quickly and gets him on the path to feeling better.

Well, he's back at it again. Bentley has been sick the past two nights in a row. I wish I knew what was going on. He is eating even slower than before (probably takes him 2 minutes to finish his food, so it's not truly "slow" just slow for our clan!), but that is the only other clue.

We're going to set an appointment with our vet who is also a nutritionist (she's the one that helped us get Bentley on a food that didn't make him sick--diarrhea--once a month).

He's only 7...I just want to know what's wrong!
