submissive urination

Great advice from all already. Couple things to add, usually this is from younger dogs and it passes as they get older. A friend of mine has a cocker that pees every time she sees a stranger. She is almost a year old now and the peeing has turned to a dot now and then.

Cadbury had this issue (except lab pups can wee larger amounts to sheltie pups!:eek2:). Usually he would roll on his back for a dog or person and then a 'fountain' of urine would appear.:uhoh: At my old training classes he wee'd before we went in every time because of excitement - which in itself is a form of stress.

Bear in mind Cadbury has never been afraid of dogs or people, far from it, so it isn't necessarily about fear. Its just about being submissive, saying "I'm a pup, no worries, don't give me any trouble please."

But they do grow out of it and I wouldn't be avoiding situations.
