Suggestions for a orthopedic bed

I have many ortho beds for Deska and he still prefers the couch! But the one he uses the most is next to my bed. I got a thick piece of foam from a human foam matress I hadn't used in a while and just put a dog futon (lightweight bed) on top. It works well as it keeps him high off the ground, is soft on his elbows but still firm enough for getting on and off. (that's Tully modelling his bed below)

He uses 2 other beds - in the lounge the one with a foam bottom and pillow top with a plush outer cover, and for going away an Orthoair airmatress (tends to lose air if used regularly tho). The one's he doesnt use (but Tully will) is the lambswool rug and the big soft cushion. Seems he prefers something with a little firmness because I think it helps with getting on and off when his elbows are sore.

Lottie's foster mom told me she slept around, so I bought several dogs beds. Neither Cooper nor Meggie had one. They prefer the tile floor or the furniture. I thought Lottie wouldn't be able to jump on the furniture, so dog beds were a must. She also prefers the tile floor or under the chair in my bedroom, she on one side and Meggie on the other. Pffff!

There are currently three dog beds in my living room. And three shelties, all sleeping on the tile!

7 beds in the living room/crate area- no one is currently using any of them. I'd like Callie to have a nice ortho bed but it's not worth spending the money if she won't use it :(

I know! Silly dog beds did a tune to my interior design and they don't even use them!

We got Danny a bed from the Foster Smith online catalog. You can see their beds and other products for dogs with arthritis on their website. I haven't shopped around to compare prices.

Yea, that was Tully modelling Deska's bed (camera shy she is not). Deska chose to plant himself on my bed and let Tully claim the glory but he is still pretty darn handsome.

I have numerous dog beds too, not to mention cat beds. The cat has decided to sleep in the old dog bed I brought when they were puppies and had in the junk pile.

I hope you will be happy with your purchase, I purchased one for Chip from Foster and Smith which is similar, when it arrived I was shocked with it. It is like a real mattress with very little give to it, I guess I had imagined that he would sink in a little put he didn't. It is huge, five inches didn't sound like very high but when it came I was amazed. He slept in it because it was in his crate but in the end I took it out and gave him a eggcrate one which looks to be more comfortable to me.
