Surprise!!!

Tip from the days of Sca: Try running from them. Sca was uncatchable and despite him being the 'good dog' being chased was SO FUN!!!!. But if I got his attention then ran from him I could have him follow me right into the fence and he thought it was great.

Of course if you are cursed with an Orange Horror when he get loose. Get help, try not to turn the air to blue with cursing, allocate a fair amount of time. Oh and once caught be ready for the most lovable puppy that is happy you saved him. Little @#$%@#!%

Oh yes! When I lost Dickens in January i told myself I wouldn't get another dog until around the end of summer, but loneliness got the better of me and I settled for early April. Still a bit cold a nasty, but at least you're not chasing them around in the cold and snow and whatever else comes down! I spent ten minutes chasing Mr. Pip on the second day I had him, and he thought it was the best kind of fun. Next day we worked on recall, and meantime I leashed him when we were outside. I'd thought of the pen, too, but he's a bit older than a lot of new pups at seventeen weeks and I was able to get him to come to me when called ... most of the time. The other times he was too distracted to notice me coming up on him! Then it was gotcha!
Oh yes…if he’s older that makes sense. Blueberry at 10 weeks would never have come to me and forget about her wearing a collar or using a leash:ROFLMAO:
Even now she doesn’t come when she doesn’t feel like it…typical female lol!
She was the only one I used the pen for outside but she was also my first winter puppy! The day I picked her up it was -30 C!

About 2 months ago my door to the garage was open and my brother in law pulled into the driveway and opened my overhead door. Blueberry ran out of the garage abd onto the public sidewalk. I told my BIL to run into the yard (through the garage) because Blueberry LOVES him…fortunately he finally listened to me (he tried to call her to him first) and she followed him into the yard.
We instituted a different policy at that point of him calling me first BEFORE he opened the overhead door!

Yes, they munch on anything they can find! Mine was rooting out pieces of charcoal from last year's grilling. The thing that bugs me is that they get so preoccupied with every stick and blade of grass that they get distracted from doing their businesses.
yes- the distraction factor has led to some indoor potty problems:rolleyes2:
Reggie does potty on leash if I need to go that route:winkgrin:
