The big snip tomorrow

LOL Michelle.

I made Birch read this and told him this is what will happen if he grows over 16". He is seriously thinking about binding his body now. Diva says if he doesn't stop tring to hump her, she will do the job herself.

That's funny, Dr. Shelli. (Diva doing the job herself) Thanks for the "laugh out loud", I needed that.

Justus gets neutered tomorrow. I'm trying to keep positive and my worry to a minimum. He will be going to Planned Pethood and they have a good reputation for doing the surgeries well and for reasonable cost as a non profit.

He will receive pain meds and come home with some.

I thought he would get a good grooming today and plenty of exercise as he will have to be restricted activity for a the remainder of the week.

Anything else I need to do or know? I heard the sac won't shrink immediately so be prepared to see that...

Most boys get throughout this just fine, right? I have to have him neutered as part of the sales contract, and he isn't breed worthy anyway, being super size and it is the responsible thing to do for performance pet owners, right?

Mr. Justus is on my prayer list for a speedy recovery.

Note: Please update us on how he is doing when you can. Thanks

I just left the handsome giant Justus at the snip center. The parking lot was full of cars with support rescue stickers plastered all over, this place is popular with the rescues! My good boy prances in there amid all the kitties and cats that were (thankfully!) in carriers looking so gosh darn handsome that I had a twinge that there wont be a son of Justice on earth.... But like the world needs that, and it just isn't going to be!

I'm proud of me though, doing the right thing when my maternal instances scream, "don't you hurt my baby!"

Now off to get the car serviced and I'm finishing a knitted baby blanket for a friend, and thank Dog that Sheltie Nation is here to help me fill the time between now and 3:00 when I can see my boy and make certain he is OKAY!

Thank you for sharing the pictures of Romeo's experience, I feel much better prepared.

This day will be over before you know it, but to us mom's it feels like forever. Zak was pretty wiped out the day he came home and had to raspberry looking balls- does not seem like it took long for them to dry up though. He was back to him self in a couple of days. I can't recall if I feed him the night he came home or not.
Michelle that was a great write up on Romeo.

Only 2 hours to go! Still at car dealership dealing with repairs and parts .... But it isn't far from the clinic!

I am pretty sure he has been operated on by now.

I called with Zak, I just could no longer wait for them to call. Just to know he was out of surgery and okay made me feel so much better.

He is home! Poor guy, he has the cone strapped on his head and is so drowsy, a little unsteady on his feet yet. He whimpers when he wakes up and then quickly goes back to sleep.

I'm sure he needs the rest, I could use a nap too!

The cone is nasty and may be unnecessary. When Indy and Bacca were done they were both up and about in less than 24 hours. Bacca was cryptoid as well, so his surgery was abdominal. Neither one of them played with their incisions, and both of them were jumping around almost immediately (much to my chagrin!)

If you want to avoid the cone of shame, you can always try a doggie diaper instead if you are worried about him licking the spot.
