The boys got groomed today.....

Loved the picts Barb--thanks for sharing.

I have a friend who shows Samoyeds. I always admired the way she trimmed and brushed up the rear hock hair on her dogs. One afternoon at a show, she showed me how she sprayed texturizing spray on the hair, combed the hair all in one direction, used the thinning shears in an expert fashion, then took the slicker brush and combed them from the paw, upward. Those sammy hocks were a thing of beauty.

I've tried to emulate her technique, but somehow Haley's rear hocks don't stay as fluffy for very long.

Gotta luv a neatly trimmed foot and nicely groomed hock hair

Well, I don't know what she did, but the rear hocks are still fluffy! All it takes is a little sweep of a brush, and they are fluffly again. So its more than than grooming sprays, etc. (as they boys have been through the mud several times since). Definitely in the scissoring technique.

They look beautiful. If I had a groomer here I thought I could trust, mine would be going there, too many horror stories around here.

This coming week will be D DAY for the two of mine, it finally stopped raining.

Great pictures, beautiful groom job.

Barb, He looks super in the left picture. My groomer gets Zaks' hocks looking so nice and full. I wish I could get the nails shorter, I just can't get them short. The second picture he looks chopped.
