The Perfect Storm

It sounds like Ellie is doing great! I'm not sure I would have handled all those morning stresses so well. I hope her next walk was a calm experience.
 
Ellie and you have earned your combat pay with that walk experience!

I think I need a martini just from READING about it!

Good job on Ellie but if you REALLY wanted to be an angel go seek out the fellow and ask for his HELP. Explain to him that you have a pup that is scared and could use his aid to get better. Then add in the tall part. Then add in that his limp makes his walk less predictable and confuses her. But stress that he is helping not scaring. You might find she improves and you bring some joy into his life (and hers as she would have a new buddy)

Just a thought and maybe to much.

It's a wonderful thought. :smile2: Knowing Ellie like I do though, I need to help her in baby steps. I am going to start with the "tall" part of her problem with a tall friend of my husbands and work on that first. Unfortunately, due to the way the man has to walk, I think 99.9999999% of dogs in the world would be very afraid. He has little control of his body and his lurching and twisting is extreme. I don't want to make this young man even more upset by Ellie being terrified of him. I know Ellie would not get near him even if he was sitting. I am extremely sensitive about physical and mental impairments as I used to work in special ed for years and I also have people in my family with multiple problems. I will work on Ellie to see how well she can handle her fear. :smile2:
