I've had my puppy for 3 weeks now. Since about day 4 he's been on raw completely. I was originally going to do kibble in the morning, and raw in the evenings, but that was more hassle then it was worth. I never realized how satisfying it would be to watch the little guy chow down on some meat with his little teeth.
So far the only thing he's been eating is chicken backs and necks, wings, oxtail, beef tongue (which was an interesting experience the first time I opened the package), liver, hearts, and gizzards. I've ordered some frozen green tripe that comes prepacked in 4oz packages, and hopefully it will get here soon. I am having a bit of trouble with variety, but I don't have any local butchers and lamb and pork are expensive. Not to mention I can't seem to find any cuts of lamb or pork that seem to be what I'm looking for (the bones are too large).
I've been feeding prey model, and I know that ground meat is frowned upon. I have access to an industrial size grinder, and was wondering if I was able to get pork or lamb, if I could just grind it to something the puppy can actually eat, and still get bone and meat. I'm just trying to add variety without breaking the bank.
Also, I've been about 13oz a day. I figured based on his projected weight of about 30lbs, and 2.5%. I also check him daily to make sure he's gaining weight, ribs can still be felt under his fur, but not sticking out.

Not sure what that's all about, so I'm going to go see what exactly they have.
