The weird things Shelties go ballistic over...

The squeal of the ironing board being put up and taken down also will bring him running the length of the hall, barking like a maniac


I forgot about that one...when I get mine out or put it away Maggie goes crazy, so did Katie- she would try to bite it. I guess she thought she had to save me from it.

Sadie is not afraid loud noises at all, never has been. She barks when she hears noises on the street but almost NEVER goes crazy. She'll bark a few times to let us know she sees something but that's it.

Sadie actually likes loud noises and often tries to play with what ever is making loud noises. She'll bark a few times but not that much. Our house is always in a state of renovation so she always wants to play with my husband's power tools (air compressor and attachements, power drill, various saws, etc.) so we have to be careful to keep her away from them. But she never really goes ballistic and is discouraged fairly easily. She is happy to stand near by and watch.

The only thing that she really goes crazy for are lights, and she doesn't bark when she sees them. Usually flash lights or laser pointers, but if the sun catches the face of my watch and makes a bright light on the wall then she'll chase that too. It makes her completely crazy and she won't stop chasing it or trying to bite it. The laser pointer is a great toy and something that she enjoys, especially in the cold months when it's hard to give her exercise.

Sadie's other great love is the hose, she loves to chase and bite the water.

Oh yeah, I just remembered that there is ONE thing she'll go crazy barking at: our neighbor. He thought it was cute to get her going whenever he came out of his house, not realizing that he was teaching her to do so every time she sees him. I think the humor is starting to wear off for him :lol:

She also love attacking rakes and shovels, but again, no ballistic barking, just alot of jumping, play biting and play growls.

One usually makes him stand up and come over, two he looks very intense, and at three he starts barking like mad!
