This finding a good brush is driving me crazy-so......

Has anyone tried those wooden bristle brushes? It says its to help detangle w/o pulling. I wondered if our pups would like that more.

I just bought 2 brushes ($70 ouch). I hope they work wonders! Well, I hope Koji will like it better. I think he has very sensitive skin.

I have this one..it doesnt pull at all I use it after baths when they are soaking wet to get the fur in the general direction its supposed to be in! :)

I am ordering a brush tomorrow for sure. My groomer uses a bore bristle brush on Zak's legs and that is one brush I don't have yet, but want to find. I have a rake but Maggie hates it, she hates getting brushed not matter what I use on her- she is miss wiggle worm. Zak is wonderful, I can lay him on either side and he is fine with brushing. Can't wait to get the new brush, they have both been blowing coat and need a warm bath- now I will have to look at the brush Lightplum mentioned. LOL

I sucked up Indy's butt hairs into the dremmel! That created a set back that I'm still dealing with him with! He hears the dremmel and his butt just starts to twitch.

The best thing is still the grooming arm if you can set one up in your home. Mine collapses and can be attached to either my lazy susan or any convenient table top. And tucked under the bed when I'm not using it.

ROTFLOL !!!!

Sandstorm here;
Indy yu shud call the union! Yu have been humiliated!!

I have the wooden pin brush. Just purchased it last weekend at the show. I love my Fussion brush, but it wears out on me in less than a year. I brush everybody almost everyday. So, I emailed Chris Christensen and asked them for advise. A representative contacted me back and said to use the wooden brush for getting out the major tangles and the Fussion brush for the rest. So, I bought two brushes last weekend. A new Fussion brush, threw the old one away, (I like the 20mm the pins are short, but I do lots of line brushing) and of course I bought the wooden brush. It is nice! Gets out the big tangles with minimum pulling. I hardly feel like I'm accomplishing anything when I use it... but then when I run the Fussion brush through there isn't hardly any tangles.

I'm interested to see how those work for you.

My gut tells me that wood pins are too thick to get down to thick pants, but I'm open to anything that makes the job easier.

I do see how a boar bristle brush though is good as a finishing to help create sheen. I'm thinking about that as one of my next purchases.

I have the CC wood pin brush and I will admit that I do get bogged down trying to do Mikos pants. I have blamed it on me being a rookie at sheltie grooming so it will be nice to hear how it works for the more experienced groomers.
