This may be a rerun but I thought it was beautiful

My Annie came to mind when I read this. She was one of my 1st sheltie rescues & the dearest to my heart. This is the greatest tribute to a loved pet.

Before humans die, they write their last Will & Testament, give their home & all they have, to those they leave behind.
If, with my paws, I could do the same, this is what I'd ask...
To a poor & lonely stray, I'd give my happy home. My bowl & cozy bed, soft pillows & all my toys. The lap, which I loved so much, the tender, loving touch. The hand that stroked my fur & sweet voice which called my name. I'd Will to the sad, scared Shelter dog/cat, the place I had in my human's loving heart of which there seemed no bounds. So when I die, please do not say, "I will never have a pet again for the loss & pain is more than I can stand." Instead, go find an unloved. One who's life has held no joy or hope, & give MY place to HIM. This is the only thing that I can give...The LOVE I left behind.

I need tissues whenever I visit this forum, that was touching. I always tell Liza that I love her so because my best girl who came before her gave me too much love I had to share it.

I've got tingles up my spine.

That being said, grief takes everyone in their own way. When Timber died, we struggled as to whether or not to get another dog, and if so, what breed? Ryan felt so strongly that it could not be a Sheltie because that would be "replacing" Timber.

After researching other breeds, I knew that a Sheltie was still for us. But it took time to figure that that we weren't "replacing" Timber. Timber was forever and always in our hearts. But yeah, we had love yet to give to another pup and so we did...two times over! Hency Indy and Bacca!

Thank you for sharing this. It's a wonderful message to send.....

Wow that is really beautiful and a real tear jerker. My Wiley must have said that because at 63' I rescued my Max, after saying I am done, no more pups for me!! Hahaha it's three years labor day Sunday. Mommy loves you Max, and that you Wiley. :).

That is beautiful. Brought tears to my eyes. We've has 3 shelties go to the Rainbow bridge and we only waited 2-3 months before adopting another. The house always seemed so emtpy without a sheltie around and (don't laugh) I missed vacuuming all the hair lying around. And of course I missed all the love and kisses they give.

This is nice. I absolutely agree with everything what is written there.

As my Sharpei passed away I had to wait almost 3 long years till I got Perry. I won't do it like this any more. I promised myself there will be no non-dog household in the future :smile2:
