tipping ears once set?

I hate having his ears glued when we go to class (every wednesday) because the instructor is a retired AKC judge and she always tells me that since I'm not showing him I shouldn't put him through the tipping process :(

Wow what nerve! She would tell me that exactly once! I'm not the southern belle Tabitha is :wink2:

 She has a lot of opinions. especially when it comes to training. I take some of them with a grain of salt. She says it then the next class tell me I can teach it however I would like to. She realizes I've shown in Agility before and I have my ways just as much as she has hers. and PS just saying, I HATE 2x2 weaves. She lives by them. :ick I just say "okay" and do whatever I usually do. When the ear topic comes up I just walk away usually and go do some equipment:hide

 I'm procrastinating. We haven't re-glued his ears yet (which is why no photo of before) BUT we're going to tonight. I like my life a bit simpler, I guess. I am all for input from knowledgeable dog folks that might help me make a better relationship with my four legged companion, but once we had that discussion, the next interchange over the same issue would not go well (particularly if the element of the discussion had nothing to do with the reason for being in that particular class). I love input, even criticism re things I might be doing wrong or could do better, but one discussion of why I choose a particular path with my pup would be sufficient. A second discussion would not go well. Of course, this presumes that the discussion was one re issues not germane to the class. Anything directly related to the class, I would expect the instructor to revisit until I learn the proper application. I don't see glued ears as germane to the dog's responses in class.

:o They'll get done when they get done! Ruutu always pulls his out though.. I actually ran out of hair to glue to :hide I'm hoping after an hour car ride, an hour of Agility courses and another hour car ride he'll be nice and sleepy to let his ears set.

we converted to Japanese tape- don't have to worry about hair to glue to......
I had been getting a little concerned about bald patches on Jocu's head from the glue pulling out:rolleyes2:
the way the boys play, I was gluing every other day.... and that is not an exaggeration
Cran didn't have that issue as a pup so his glue lasted a week usually...
I took Jocu to a local sheltie breeder and she taped his ears down with the Japanese tape and that's what we've been using since May. we go weeks now before we have to fix ears- unless it rains a lot and the ears get totally soaking wet.............

That sounds exactly like Ruutu. He'd leave them alone for a day. or well, it would take him a day to get all the glue out.. Lately he's been good though, getting 1-3 weeks out of it. We'll see how he feels when I re-glue them.. tonight i promise! procrastination ends tonight!

Hehe I was referring back to how Jeff described your diplomatic skills in another thread :smile2:
And somehow I get the idea that judge wouldn't be making those comments to him more than once either :wink2:

I think he's handsome either way!
Fillion's glue came out again and I may just leave it. His ears look like Ruutu's in that unglued pic, and I may just be ok with it!
