Today I Re-Enter the Sheltie World!!

Thanks! :) I wish I had a more outgoing dog to help him, when we were in Petsmart the trainer had a client who's dog was outgoing and sweet. It wasn't long before he was very interested in playing with her.

I also have to watch, he's still intact right now and thinks he's a little stud muffin. I want to enroll him in the beginners class there, just so he can get socialized more in a controlled situation. Then, I'd like to start him in an agility class when we start getting our basic obedience commands.

That photo is "magical". Once again I am so happy for you.
 
He is beautiful, did not realize you were getting an older puppy. It will take some time for him to adjust. Had the breeder worked with him any. He has really nice coloring.
 
Thanks so much! His breeder was in the middle of a move and wasn't able to socialize him as much as she'd like. It's not the norm for her - his mother, father and sister all have grand champion titles, and his half sister has a champion title, just a few points away from her GC. They were all total love bugs.

He's sleeping with his nose shoved into my leg now. Like I mentioned in my other thread... He's completely run away with my heart. :)
 
Congratulations and welcome back to the real world:yes: You pup looks a real beauty and surely fate brought you both together. The pic of Baxter is a wonderful one and a grand memory. Good luck with your training etc.
 
A big welcome to you and Monet! What a handsome boy - I just love the pic of him "floating" above the ground! What a mover.

I also don't think all this was coincidence - it was all meant to be. Congratulations. You will both we learning all along the way.

Congratualtions. Monet is beautiful. We adopted Angel when she was 9months. She is 4 now. At first we couldn't even touch her. Now she plops on top of us. It takes time and patience but they eventually come around.
 
Wow Baxter was a big fellow wasn't he :lol:

Monet is a unique and happy looking pup also. I am betting he will get into you just as far as Baxter, that is how it works for me, there is always room for another favorite :cool:

I am so glad to hear that others have gone through this and that their dogs adjusted. He's already come so far, I'm glad he's starting to bond with me.

Thanks SheepofBlue, Baxter certainly was a big boy! I loved him very dearly. And yep, I think there is enough room in my heart for Monet. I've finally started finding things he likes to eat, and hopefully we can get him on a good schedule and he will start to acclimate.

In the meantime, I need to find a good martingale collar and find something good for him to chew on. He's a very mild chewer, mostly when in his crate. I cannot stand the smell of the bully sticks. Any ideas?
