Too big for his crate!

Both mine had a second growth spurt around 12 months - so Tully just grew enough to reach 13" and Deska went over 16". So don't bank on Smudge stopping growing just yet.

Wow, a growth spurt that late. Ember was done at 6 months. Didn't grow a bit she is 13" on her tip toes. Justice stopped at 9 months and actually dropped 3/4 in in height when his chest widen, he is 15in. Diva so far has not grown since 8 months. She is 14 1/2.

As long as they can stand up ,turn around and lay down the crate should be fine. Mine seem to like the crates on the smaller side given the choice.

I don't mind the fact that he's oversized at all. I just wish I had gotten a bigger crate! I don't remember the brand name of the crate. I got a good deal on it. They were having a sale on crates, but they were out of stock. Instead of waiting for the next shipment to come in I got a nicer crate at 20% off for my trouble. It's a nice sized crate.

I'm going to wait to buy another one to see. I don't use it very much, but my parents won't be home for two weeks in December, so I'll have to use it then! My sister recently got a new job (yay Julie! ) so she can't watch him either.

If you have time, you can look at Craigslist for used crates. We got a fairly new crate (the one with black rods) for $20.00 on Craigslist. Just be sure to wash the cage with bleach. You can also sell your old one on Craigslist.
