Too soft ears that won't stand

My Bacca, who comes from championship lines on both sides and whose siblings also made champion had hound ears as well.

Apparently, it is a trait that recurred periodically in the line and is somewhat know in the breeding circles. I doubt its the same line as you are in Poland.

Had I known though, I would have tried bracing his ears with tape instead of just tipping them. By the time I figured out they weren't going to stand, it was too late. I call him my Eeeyore, btw, because his floppy ears give him such a sad sack face@ And when he trots, his ears flap! Truly!

Unfortunately, I think 9 months is too old to really make a difference. But if you love the pup and love the personality, even though you wanted to show, I wouldn't let that stop you. But if showing is your primary goal, then you might want to rethink.

Thanks barb! I know from my heart I still want this pup. Yes the ears make them look extra innocent dont they? ;) if the breeder herself can't fix the ears I doubt there's much I can do either. But that's ok, he has a very mellow personality that I like. And I can never refuse this face

I'm interested in showing, but I think I'll enjoy taking my dogs out to a big park and see them Play more :)

Thanks everyone for your opinions. If the ears are salvageable I will try my best. If not I need to stop feeding him everytime he looks at me lol

He is absolutely lovely! I love his colouring I can see why you fell in love. I know many a potential breeder/shower that also had their favourite companion pets.....including Bacca's breeder.

Good luck!

Plus getting him doesn't mean I can never get into shows and conformation. Just that I need to wait a few more years before I can get another(gasp) dog. But I'm sure in the mean time Alfie and this puppy will keep me busy :p i just realised they are only 3months apart. Not sure if it should be a concern? PickIng him up in feb. he will be staying with my boyfriend first. Will post when he's here!
