Pico LOVES his toys.
He loves his little stuffed squirrels and rabbits.
He loves his stuffed lambs
He loves his chew and tug toys.
and he loves his flirt pole
he even likes the cheerble ball (lights up and moves on its own)
and of course his food/treat balls.

he prefers playing with me but will play by himself now (thankfully).
he brings me toys and will fetch them a good amount of the time.
Balls aren't as interesting yet

Gavin wasn't a toy lover so I am kinda at a loss. Pico has sooo many toys but he plays with most of them.
Some for the kitchen pen where he stay when I am work, Some for the living room playroom, some for the pen outside, some for the crate in my bedroom, and some for the dog beds by my bed.

Its a lot of toys!
I am kinda scared to put them all in the same place to see how many there are!

Teddy being an only dog in the house, after awhile he gets tired of some of his toys. So I have exchanged a few of those with friends for about a month and when they return the toys have new smells from my friends dog and creates renewed interest in the toy. And they both get to try out different toys and have fun with some that I never thought he would like.
There have been a couple of casualties torn stuffing etc but our approach is it wasn't being played with so we agreed up front no big deal. For us it has worked out ok and the few he really likes are not loaned out.

Sca liked toys and had a bin. He would slowly empty it then do it all over. Spitfire.... you guessed it toys are used to terrorize your brother. Angus was the eater of all toys. Ian loves toys.

The majority of my Shelties have not been interested in toys. Our first loved two things - an old hand towel for tug (she would come drape it over our feet when she wanted to play) and a pair of old socks knotted together. The sock toy passed on to the next two, and when Asta was a puppy she loved a small stuffed elephant, which I still have. Brooke did not care about toys except a flat round squeaker that her breeder used with her in the show ring. Faith does like to fetch so she will do that with a couple of items, but no interest in other toys except to tear the squeaker out.

Elijah, he loves the soft indoor ball to fetch and just recently tried him on a soft frisbee. Now Meadow, she is my toy queen. Goes rooting around in the toy bin for exactly what she wants and then brings it over. But she doesn't play with them by herself at all.

We have a similar situation here. Oberon was never very interested in toys -- periodically he'd pick one up and chew on it a bit and then put it down. Oreo, however, is almost always chewing on a toy. He's got not only the toys we get for him but he' found all of Oberon's old toys and loves on them too. In our house you can circle through the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Oreo does zoomies around the circle -- and is usually carrying a toy while he does that. Last night it was a flamngo that squeaked and, you guessed it, he was squeaking it while running. I got quite a kick out of it.

Our last dog, Mercutio the Samoyed, used to rip the noise maker out of a toy and then try to carry just the squeaker around -- of course we put a stop to that so he wouldn't choke.

No matter how often I clean up, I find toys everywhere. Pico will carry then onto my bed, into the hallway, all over. and just leave them there :)
and it is VERY cute when he goes digging through his toybox :) and I love watching him throw toys around by himself.
The only one that is being destroyed is the hide-a-squirrel tree trunk. I wish I could buy just that (we still have lots of squirrels)

Our crew was pretty big on toys for the first year or so- balls, chew rope and rubber bone.. our male would and still will fetch for awhile and he seems to like then MEH. But now it is only occasionally and virtually all the toys end up going thru the doggy door to the back yard- have to be gathered up, washed and back into the house where the game begins again. They don't play much with toys but somehow they all end up outside.
