Training Liam

Liam gets bored very easily and therefore gets into trouble. I was in the dollar store today and picked up some cones and then placed a yard stick on top of them in a bedroom doorway and sent Liam back and forth over them to fetch his ball. Very little coaxing and he was going back and forth like a pro.

Smart Momma, he does that well. These dogs are amazing how smart they are and how quickly they learn things.

Great idea! When Shelby was a pup she too got bored very easily and of course in trouble. DH made a jump like that out of PVC pipe and bought a cheap kiddy tunnel at Toys R Us. We would set them up in the basement and throw her ball. Worked great and tired her out.

The cones were only a dollar each. I am going to cut notches in them, pick up some doweling and have jumps and cavaletti for them. Now I am on my own, the dogs are after me to keep them busy.

Beau does not fetch. When I threw the ball down the hall way he ran to chase the ball, picked the ball up in his mouth then place the ball back down and gave me the look that says "momma" you threw the ball you, you get the ball

What a great idea. I use my arms and make a" circle" for Sally to jump thru, but this would be fun also. Maybe I could get the cat to jump over it too...

Oh! What a great idea for a quick set up indoor jump! I will need to see if my dollar store carries those!

We had a similar setup in my apartment for flyball! Except I would set the ball down at the end of the hallway and send Missy over the jump to get it. It was a PVC jump. Maybe Liam should do flyball...

This is what I came up with - dollar store cones, dollar store Velcore, and doweling from my local Home Hardware. I have four jumps for less than $15.00. I also picked up a child's hoop and have kind of figured out how to attached it with Velcro to the cones as well as a jump.
