Trials--do you use a tent/EZ Up/canopy?

Tents

I use a similar shade shelters at agility comps and it works great - fits two crates/xpen and me (even a chair if I duck my head). Mine has pockets around the bottom so I weight the bottom in windy weather (I put some pebbles in plastic drink bottles). It is a pop up one so folds up easily and goes into a little backpack.

I felt a bit daggy with the shade tent at first when there were so many gazebos around but I am noticing more and more shade tents now - less time to set up, not as heavy and you dont have to get there before dawn to find a space to set a gazebo up.

What's an Ezy-up?

www.ezupdirect.com This is what they look like and trust me they are to put up.

Just thought I would add an update to this thread, Last week I bought a 10X 10 Ezup canopy & walls because I want to attend some outdoor trials this year it arrived Friday around 5:30 . I set it up Friday night it's great, now Comes the clincher. It doesn't fit in my car. My trunk is 56 inches wide and the ezup canopy is only 52 long in the case checked that but the trunk opening is too small to get it in the trunk 46" max :eek2::eek2: I never even thought to check it and my car doesn't have rear seat passthroughs, it will go in the wifes malibu with the back seat down but not in my trunk..... I was able to figure out a way to get it inside the car but it has to run right down the middle of the car and sit up on the back seat window ledge, not a very pleasent way to travel especially with 3 dogs in the back seat, not sure how they will take to it being there. If you have a van or SUV it shouldn't be a problem, but if you are traveling in a car with no pass throughs: IT"S A NOTA GONNA FITTA :rolleyes2:

I think I kicked myself about half way around the block for being so stupid. anyway I now have a nice new canopy to use if I can figure out a way to get it there. Laugh NOW at my expense please I did after I had finished swearing.

Oh no!

Can you return it?

That was my first thought but it will cost more to buy roof racks then the shelter cost, think I might look for a smaller one or just hang on to it till the next vehical comes along SOMEDAY.

Just get a screen room tent then. I guarantee that will fit in your car. They are relatively inexpensive.

I have one of these for when we camp. They take a while to put up (all the matching up posts) but they work great. And they definitely protect you from the weather.

I will get to use it at the trial that I bought it for next month anyway's as it is only about 30 minutes from home, I Know the lady that's hosting the trial, and I will be able to take it out in the wifes car friday night & set it up for SAT & SUNDAY, Just means when we go out for Sunday we will have to take both cars out so I can get it home easily on Sunday night when the trials over.

But I will need to get something else if we head out farther afield this summer, but maybe not, Just looking at the trail listing I have more then
15 possible trials less then an Hours drive away I can attend If I want this summer with almost half of those being Indoor Venues If worse comes to worse We can just take both vehicals for now I will load all the gear in mine and she can take the 3 dogs and our grandaughter (the Official Dog Sitter) in hers.

P.S. I do love the EZup I had it Up the first time all by myself with all the walls attached in less then 15 minutes had the actual canopy its self up in about 5 minutes or less with a single person, with 2 people it will be a snap.

Depending on the type of EZup, some of the are really compact. The one I bought from a sports store was TALL when broken down and heavy. My friends was even taller than mine.

that one folds to 47"

I say, return yours and buy an EZup. :)
Are they expensive in Canada? I lucked out and am near an outlet (so it's a lot cheaper).

Good luck with it in the car. Bummer it doesn't fit. Trust me, I keep looking at new cars and thinking, "will all my agility stuff fit?" LOL.

Yes true EZ-ups are really expensive in Canada, The one I bought off Ebay was almost triple the price from the Cdn EZ-up Distrubutor , even with the customs duty ect buying it off Ebay and shipping it up here was a lot cheaper.

Maybe I should be an EZup distributor to Canada. ;)

I have borrowed those tents for trials too. I think the people that I know who let me borrow it are getting annoyed, so I'm pricing them out to see if one is worth getting. I did find this ez up place but I need reviews from all of you who have one so that I can figure out all of my options. Let me know what you know. Thanks.

For myself, I had bought one from Sports Authority. I forget the brand. The sprinklers at the park came on and basically broke our canopy. BUT, the ones people have bought from Costco seemed to hold up. I replaced mine with an EZ-Up and it seems to be holding up a LOT better than the one from Sports Authority.

I'm curious how that company sells them so cheap. I saw that they're located down the street from me too. Hmmm.....
