trouble with stairs

I figured she would like a heating blanket since she is always laying on the register when the heat comes on.

My 13 year old mixed breed has arthritis and is very slow with stairs. Capers gets Dasuquin and fish oil daily (for joint health / inflammation), as well as gabapentin (for unspecified pain). Every 6 - 8 weeks she gets an Adequan injection, which seems to help with stiffness in her hind legs.

She is slowly getting worse she spends all day laying down on her bed, I now have to make her go outside to go to the bathroom. I am sure this cold weather isnt helping any. She also hasnt been eating all her food the last couple of weeks, and today she only ate a couple of bites of her food. My vet said I should start considering the possiblities that it is time to let her go. I just cant think of doing it right now. I want to wait and see how she is after the holidays.
 
She has her good days and her bad days, which is why I dont want to have her put to sleep yet. Yesterday she actually got up when I was getting the food out, she usually lays in bed and waits for me to bring it to her. She still isnt eating enough though. She should be eating 2 cups she only ate 3/4 of a cup yesterday. She still is not active though and spends most of the day laying down.
 
What meds is she on? Have you given pentosan (cartrophen) injections a go? These help build the cartlidge and can make a huge difference to arthritic dogs. Deska is on it and so are several older dogs I know with arthritis, I cant recommend it enough, it really is a miracle drug. Deska also gets metacam on an adhoc basis for his arthritis. Given her age perhaps she would benefit from a regular anti-inflamm to ease her through life.
 
Right now she is on carprofen. She also takes glucosamine. I will have to ask about the injections, maybe that will help her.
