on Wed night when I returned home puppy threw up during the night- shoe insole, piece of butter stick paper- who know how much but it was not whole wrapper, possibly half of stick and something firm which I was unable to ID, something that might have been rawhide... anyway, Thursday- pup east his usual chicken necks in the morning, has his usual level of energy, has normal stool around 5 pm, goes to agility classes, does everything well, attentive, gets plenty of treats...minimal dinner with few kibble...
throws up again during the night, around 3 am, partially digested semi formed food leftovers... Friday we wait till noon, puppy get his usual chicken necks, kibble and Ziwipack venison... stool is normal again later at evening...
vomiting again during the night, same semiprocessed stuff...
and of course it is a long weekend rule but what do I do???
he is normal in behavior, hungry, drinking and peeing, his tummy is flat, not painful to touch, there is bowel sound, I listened...
is there partial obstruction with normal stool and vomiting after dinner meal?
Is this kibble to blame as I had new bag delivered and pup ate for 3 days?
is there pancreas involved due to eating butter...
should I feed him more trying to push things our if it is partial obstruction...
should I withold the food if it is pancreatic upset...

what I have is 3 nights of vomiting in a row, first one had a reason- foreign objects... seemmingly well pup otherwise...

Aww I'm sorry Che is not feeling well. I really don't know the answer to your questions. I hope he feels better and it's nothing serious. If you are really worried, then take him to the vet. Even if it's just from his food, it will give you piece of mind.

is it bran new food? as in food hes never eaten before? if it is that may be the issue i know for my retriever he was sick for a bit because we switched his food early

If your puppy keeps up vomiting, I would certainly take it to the vet and have it checked out.

Pancreatitis would not be caused by a single episode of eating butter. My Hamish had pancreatitis (and I almost lost him to it the day he was diagnosed) and if your puppy had pancreatitis you would know - pain, vomiting (Hamishs was yellow), inability to eat, distended stomach, pale gums. Pancreatitis can be caused by a virus, injury, and sometimes it is was they call ideopathic - no known cause. (I had it too so I know what it is like). If the problem starting after switching to a new food, I would suspect the food. Some foods are not tolerated by some dogs.

Sounds like your puppy is finding everything and anything to chew on and swallow. With Emma, I have to make sure shoes are put away (she did swallow a small child's insole and pass it).

I would put Che on boiled chicken and rice for a few days, or at least until the weekend is over (they always get sick on weekends!) and then call your vet. Things like this aren't worth messing with, if he keeps throwing up. Please keep us posted.

yep, stopped throwing up same way he started- no reason at all...
promptly ate half a bread sandwich next day stolen from the table, tortilla from all veggie burrito/ ate just the shell, left the beans and guacamole for me/ and plate with sweets from the party we went to/ thankfully those were small piece of cheesecake and apple pie, no chocolate/
He is better with counter surfing, but boy, it is only those instances when you put something on the low table and remember that you still need a fork or something, next thing you know food is missing, takes nanoseconds to get it and wolf it down... self rewarding behavior keeps it going...
right now Che is again chewing on metal wiring and I noticed small blood on toilet paper he got into, so am guessing it is his molars growing, am glad got him new chewies and bully stick...
how do you keep your pups from picking up every scrap in the house????
