Wow! Very nice (even with the coughing--poor guy!) Congratulations on Qing your first time in advanced, that definitely says a lot about your training.
Thanks. We worked pretty hard over the past month to get ready for this. My club offers an Advanced Rally class Friday nights so I've been doing drop ins on that class. (I knew I couldn't make the classes in February for various reasons so I just did drop in.) Every night we'd spend time, about 30 minutes broken into short intervals, working on fronts, right/left finishes, etc.
I'll be honest, I was very surprised the course was so short and didn't have the more difficult stations like Off Set Figure 8 or any of the Pivot turns. The hardest signs on the course, for me, was the "Stand. Walk Around Dog" because Edan was still moving his back end on the walk around during practice and the jump because he loves to just take off and look for the next one. I seriously never expected him to dart toward the jump as we passed it again since normally he's right with me and we've by-passed jumps before in Snooker.
I smiled really big when Edan went over to that jump the second time--he couldn't help himself!![]()
After the fact, yeah, it was funny and I can laugh about it.
That caught me complete off guard though. Of all the scenarios I trained for, that was NOT one I foresaw. It's a good thing he never quite made it to the jump. If he'd have taken the jump, it may have resulted in an NQ.
At least he'd have had fun.
Silly agility dog.
