Two questions....

Trading in a pup! :-(

Yes, I did bring Ginnie back and brought home Indy today. These were the two original choices that I had.

I feel quite awful about it, but am now coming around that I made the right decision. Ginnie was so skittish and cowered that she was starting to stress Bacca out - who only wanted to play with her - and she was so stressed herself.

When I brought her back to the breeder, I could barely hold her on her leash as I brought her up to the door. She seemed so happy to be home and never gave me a look backward! :cry:

So Indy came home with me...he's the same age as Bacca - a 9 month old Tri male....quite the cutie!

He's going to get a grooming tonight, because I'm allergic to the shampoo that my breeder uses. :uhoh::smile2:
 
sorry to hear it didn't work out. I had the same problem 2 years ago. I got an 18 month old female blue merle from the same breeder I got Belle. Her name was Rain, she was so scared when we got her home she would just hide. after 6 month of trying to get her to adjust she never did. We took her back and got Belle as a replacement pup. While I was sad at the time and felt like a complete failure, Belle turned out to be the perfect pup for us! Ginnie did the same thing Rain did! Rain ran to the breeder was whining and crying jumping all over her, not once since we had her was she ever that affectionate towards us.
 
I'm sorry to hear that it did not work out with her. I wish you the best with Indy! I loved his picture. He is a cutie pie. Keep us updated on the new arrival and how he is adjusting!!
 
Hi Barb, I too, am sorry to hear it did not work out- unfortunately that happens sometimes for various reasons- but this might be what was meant to be for you, with Indy. (((hugs)))

That's too bad, Barb. :( Sorry to hear...that sucks. I'm sure Indy will work out just fine. I mean, what are the chances of the same thing happening twice! Chin up! It'll get better!

And I'd like to wish Indy a warm welcome to our crazy, crazy Sheltie forum...where all of us feel the same love and obsession for our pups/dogs everyday! :lol:

But really - what would we do if not for Sheltie Forums?? :confused2:
...I'm confused just thinking about it!

I'm sorry it didn't work out with Ginnie, but glad for the happy ending with Indy. With the two being so close to the same age I'm sure that he'll adjust quickly and settle into his new forever home :smile2:
 
I've been out of town since week before last and have just caught up on the puppy "goings on". I'm sure it was difficult to surrender Ginny, but it sounds as though this may have been best for all.
