Ultrasound Today

I'm so glad that she's home and relaxing now. It must be so frustrating to not really have a clear answer from the ultrasound... and to have to wait so long for the lab results. I don't know how the vets do it; visual diagnostics on such a variety of breeds (not to mention species!) must be very tricky.

Please give Bailey a pat from me. Hopefully you will have some answers - and a game-plan - soon.

It's only noon here and she's already peed 3 times. She also had a stomach ache, which is probably from being stressed at the vet all day. My poor Bailey Boo was pricked so many times, she has a little bruise on leg. But like the princess that she is, she did get a pink bandage.

It's been a rough time for Bailey and for you. These tests are hard for a little doggie to go through...but hopefully in the end you will get solid answers and know what needs to be done to give Bailey any support she might need medically...if any is needed.

I know waiting for the ACTH test results seems like forever...just went through that wait for our Simba a couple of months ago. Fingers crossed that the results come back normal.

Gentle hugs to Bailey.

Hey Randi-

Sorry to hear that you had trouble with poor Bailey. Fingers crossed that everything turns out ok with the tests and that her tiny kidneys will not be a problem.

I had my gallbladder removed last year....and I am doing fine  So, I don't think gallbladders would decrease her life expectancy (or at least I hope not)!

It's so worrisome when our dogs aren't well and we don't know what's causing it. It stinks when you get different answers from different vets. I just went through this with Lacey who is, thankfully, on the mend. I hope Bailey improves quickly and her test results give you some answers and direction to avoid future problems. Please give her a pat from us. :hugs

Poor Bailey!! Im sure the stress of being at the vets all day gave her an upset stomach nerves and all. Fingers crossed lab work comes back ok, as far as gallbladders its a good thing to keep an eye on in shelties, they are prone to mucole which can turn deadly. I would keep her on the milk thistle, from what ive read (and could be wrong) but it does not harm anything.

Randi--I know it must be tough by having totally conclusive results. And it seems odd that the two vets would disagree. Keep us posted on the ACTH test results.

You've inspired me to confirm if Lexi has ever had an ultrasound. Knowing that our girls have similar issues..

Still thinking of you and Bailey both!

Thanks everyone!

Yesterday was a much, much better day for Bailey. She wasn't urinating as frequently and her stomach was back to normal. I was getting very worried that she had to relieve herself every 2 hours on Saturday. On Sunday, she was back to a more normal 5-6 hours. We did agility on Saturday and rally on Sunday, so she was a happy camper. Thankfully, my little girl did not seem to hold a grudge.

Good to hear Bailey is on her way to recovery. Wish these puppets could talk
at times. Nothing like a good scare about them not feeling well. Its a mental
worry for us humans.

Keep going Bailey all good thoughts for you.
