undersized sheltie?

I have this posted on my website

Shelties come in all different sizes. However to "show" a Sheltie in conformation, they must be between 13-16" at the shoulder as measured from the ground. Size does not affect their personality at all. Some Shelties look like small collies, while some are quite small. Some can weigh 50 lbs, and some can weigh 10lbs.. The average Sheltie probably weighs 25 pounds. There is NO such thing as a miniature or toy sheltie. These terms were made up by unethical breeders trying to market small shelties. These really small shelties can and often do have more medical problems than the normal sized shelties. IF someone tries to sell you a "miniature Sheltie", you should run the other way!

Or a miniature collie (for the run away comment....)

Height

Here in UK we are told that bitches should be 14 inches at the withers and dogs should be 14 and a half inches. Bigger or smaller and one cannot show at top level!

The standard is regardless of sex, but females are generally smaller, and more delicate looking. The standard requires a male to look like male, and the female to look like female.

I guess Bacca is a male's male! There is nothing delicate about him!

AT 8 months, he stands 16 inches and weights 22 lbs. That's right on the line using the Pow chart.

What I'm not sure of is how much more I can expect him to grow.

Wanna see tiny?? Have a look at my Lacey. She is 15 months old and weighs 9 pounds. She is 10" at the withers and is so fine boned I worry about her jumping from the couch to the floor on those small legs.

Hugs to all

Little Squirt at 4 years is 13 inches to the shoulders and 7.5 lbs ,, but he can still drag his big brother down by the neck in a wrestling match .His legs are thick as your pinky finger. Vet also gives him a clean bill of health,, his answer to why Squirt is so tiny,, some ppl are big, some ppl are small...he's also a momma's boy..

Little Squirt is absolutely ADORABLE!! That tiny snout is sooo cute. My pup is steadily getting larger. She's 5 months and has all her adult teeth and she's all legs. Her hair is getting longer too. The thing that keeps throwing my off is that she is so little compared to my parent's sheltie, but I love her no matter what. So she measures around 12 inches at the withers, but seems small because my parents sheltie is so hairy and large.

I have a small, medium and a large sheltie! Actually the large sheltie is just right but if you line them up next to each other it looks like I did it on purpose! Zoe is my smallest at 12 inches and she weighs about 15 lbs. Marlie is medium and is 13 inches and weighs 22 lbs. Rasha is just right at 15 inches and weighs 25 lbs.

Love the pictues of Squirt and Lacey very cute! Here's one of Zoe:
