Update, Minnie saw the vet today

Minnie saw the vet today. Our vet thinks the same as the emergency vet we saw three weeks ago. Minnie's infection was caused by a foreign object that got in through her gums probably. She's on 2 different antibiotics and an anti- inflammatory. It should get better but; this may require imaging and minor surgery if the swelling comes back. Chances are it may, though I'm hoping. She will be on antibiotics for awhile, longer than two weeks. I feel comfortable with this treatment as two vets from two excellent hospitals agree. It's discouraging, she had to have the small area shaved again. I know that's superficial but it upsets me still. Our vet wants to go this route first, as the imaging can be expensive. We have the money, we're still working, and by the time we retire the issue will be solved anyways. It could be worse, that's what makes me feel better.

minnie here!!! i is hoping my hoomans giv me lots of COOKIES becuz i hav a injury! mom sed i do but I is not in pain. the docter tried to take my temperture but i wud not let him becuz he did not hav peanutbutter!

Coop here!! If yous have a sore mouth you could eat eat lots of turkey it’s nice and soft! Gots to tell you everything is bedda with peanut budda is !! My heart worm pill is chewable my mom said and tastes good...I spit it on the floor until she got the peanut Budda jar out!!

I’m glad you know what the problem is and the path to recovery! It’s much harder when they can’t figure out what’s going on. Pats to Minnie and hopes that the meds do the trick.

I'm glad you caught it before it started causing Minnie any pain Karen. I know how hard it is on us when our puppy is hurting. Hopefully this round of antibiotics clears it up for good!

How rude not to have peanutbutter on hand at a time like that!! Shame, shame, shame!
