We've had Lucky now for 2 months and he is doing really well. He is getting along with our other dogs (sheltie mix and chihuahua). Our special time, other than walks, is our weekly brushing time. The heat has been pretty unbearable for all of our dogs, so they spend the majority of the day in the air conditioned house and are outside in the early evening.
Lucky sleeps next to my side of the bed and follows me around in the house. He won't lick my face but will nudge my cheek with his nose.
I've attached a photo of us at our local minor league baseball team's "Bark in the Park" event. Patrons can bring their dogs and sit in certain sections, and they have water and treats available for the dogs. Both Lucky and our sheltie mix, Dusty enjoyed watching the ball thrown back and forth. Lucky did not want to pose for the camera (he moves whenever we try to take a photo) and this is why I am holding his face!
We also took him to the Huntington Beach Dog beach on Father's Day and discovered that he doesn't like to walk in the surf or sand, but that he enjoys socializing with other dogs.
