Waiting for the Surgeon

He saw his Surgeon and it was a very full cyst that steamed puss when he put a needle in it. He said it was common and he could drain it again if Teddy was uncomfortable, he's not ,he never felt this one.
He said he could remove the sack/outer casing if it became an issue but he would need local anesthesia.
Overall the Vet said he is doing well for a geriatric senior. And if he is that what does that make me? He is only 7.5 years young. .

He's got a couple more years before I would call him senior. 7.5 is still battle the puppies. After 10 sometime it is I will end you puppy.

Wow, I don't consider 7.5 senior at all...I think those standards have changed, especially for smaller breeds. I don't consider them senior until they're 10! Sprite is 11 and she plays ball like she was 5. And Flurry at 9 has not slowed down a bit. She's still psycho puppy, guarding the windows, running and barking. I don't change them to senior food or supplements until then either. And the same goes for you, Ron!

I hate those bumps in the life of a Sheltie- very nerve wracking. Does it move when you try to move it or is it attached to the tissue beneath it? Even tho the tail is a pretty tight place, if movable it is more likely to be a cyst or fatty lump etc.

Oh for goodness sake, 7 1/2 is NOT a senior Sheltie and I think Teddy would agree. Glad to hear it was just a cyst as you suspected. But good to check it out. Give Teddy a pat from me.
