Waiting for the Surgeon

He's got a couple more years before I would call him senior. 7.5 is still battle the puppies. After 10 sometime it is I will end you puppy.
 
Wow, I don't consider 7.5 senior at all...I think those standards have changed, especially for smaller breeds. I don't consider them senior until they're 10! Sprite is 11 and she plays ball like she was 5. And Flurry at 9 has not slowed down a bit. She's still psycho puppy, guarding the windows, running and barking. I don't change them to senior food or supplements until then either. And the same goes for you, Ron! :smile2:
 
I hate those bumps in the life of a Sheltie- very nerve wracking. Does it move when you try to move it or is it attached to the tissue beneath it? Even tho the tail is a pretty tight place, if movable it is more likely to be a cyst or fatty lump etc.
 
Well it's time for an update, Teddy saw his Vet 2 weeks ago and we got it drained He saw him Tuesday and in 4 days it erupted 2 times he was a matted mess and was unhappy that we had to clean him up so much.
I talked with Dr Brandon on Monday and he said he could remove it. So on Tuesday he preformed the surgery Yes he did it the next day. He was able to do the procedure under sedation without using full anesthesia 💉 He did well ate right away and pooped today Wednesday.. I am very lucky that Teddy has such a good medical team.

Awesome that he did it so quickly and just under sedation. So much easier on you to not worry about him going under. Poor Teddy, getting his bum shaved like that. Luckily it'll grow back some before the cold hits. You are lucky your main vet is so amazing.
 
He is super, I think it helps that I ask for him and don't bother him unnecessarily. He is the practice primary surgeon but I usually leave him a voicemail to ask him what I need to and I have waited till he is available.
But lately Teddy has needed a Surgeon When Teddy was dropped off Tuesday,a Vet Tech said she got to see Teddy's Gall Bladder removal and was kinda proud of that.

Good to hear he’s doing ok! I hear ya about age…,Finnie is 8 and still acts like a puppy!
 
Looks like quite a large incision, glad Teddy is rid of the problem and doing well. At least he won't have to wear the dreaded collar for that wound.
