Walking the North Downs Way!

The North Downs Way is a National Trail of 156 miles so I'm not setting out to do the whole route this time. :lol: The section I am doing is about 14 miles in total (we are doing about a couple of miles at a time) and begins from my favourite photograph location. From the building where I work, I can see much of the route of this walk yet most of it has been entirely new territory for the dogs and I to explore. I have been missing out all these years because it has been wonderful, filled with drama and stunning views. A proper adventure which has reminded me of the journey of 'The Fellowship of the Ring". Going out of your door is indeed a dangerous business even when you have a map and know where you are going, you never quite know where you will end up or what you will see!:wink2:

I hope you enjoy looking at these photos as much as we enjoyed doing the walks.:smile2:

Beautiful photos, as usual! I had to laugh when I saw them standing in that mud. Did they get baths when you got home or did it come off when dried?

Also, just curious, but do you have problems with ticks where you are? I saw all that tall grass and that's the first thing I thought of.
 
I always love your pics, you are so fortunate to be surrouded by such beauty. I can only dream of living in the midst of all that land. Maybe some day. :smile2:
 
Ticks don't tend to be a problem too much - round here at least. Although I do walk through sheep fields as you can see, I've never found a Kentish tick on the boys!!

Dartmoor/Devon was another matter entirely and we were constantly removing ticks, especially from Revel. I don't know if Yogi's coat was too thick for them.

The mud from the first picture did wash off in the long wet grass (there was something postive from getting my feet soaked!) but the second lot of mud did need bathing. I borrowed Jessica's used bathwater and they all came out smelling like princesses to their disgust!:lol:
 
Lovely backdrops for your dogs, as always. It must be wonderful to have that open space where all of the dogs can be safely off lead.
 
Great shots! I love the kind of valley the shelties are running in. And Epic's look seems to be quite familiar to me :winkgrin: Looks like a fur ball of energy.
 
Wow! I love that area! I love seeing shelties running in open spaces free as the wind. So beautiful! Your shelties are gorgeous and look soo happy to be out in their element. I loved the shot of the coast (I'm a sucker for waterscapes). Thank you for sharing!
