We are having food problems~

I book marked this site, lots of great info. Thanks!!!

Hopefully Trapp is better ASAP, poor little guy.

Justicemom, the spelling on this is not going to be great. What do you know about EQUAXUFIN (spelling??) Someone stated a long time ago its in a couple of bags of popular foods. I never stated those dog foods, never could find the info on this that it is true. Why cause havoc if I can't find the info this person stated to me.

Sable,

If you need to ever place an order please use my site and contact me as I can make sure you get free samples of the antioxidant treats and get wholesale prices as well the company does not do that for you. www.trilogyonline.com/ginger I actually just started my 2 on this and 1st they love it and 2nd my Bella has skin issues where she scratches all the time. Only been on it a week and the scratching is starting to slow down.

Great to meet you

Ginger

First Impressions of Life's Abundance!

Well they would eat all I would give them out of the sample's I got today,if I let them. All 3 dogs here seemed excited, and wanted more "treats"

We will see how supper time goes with it. As far as Bumper...well this could be a process that could take some time.

She has the most unbelievable sense of smell, that we are hoping with just 1 piece to get her to try it,mixed in with her other kibble, that she will eat all the food in her dish as she usually does.

Then eventually increase to more than one piece.

That is great.:smile2: Rachel reminded me that she fed life's abundance to her shelties before she changed to raw and that she stills feeds it to her Malamute and foster dog. She said it is similar in ingredients to the old Eagle Holistic(again name changed after a buyout:() but she feels better about the sources of the ingredients.

Nutrisource- samples

I went down to my dog bakery and got the samples of Nutrisource- she gave me 9 bags of samples. I came home and opened one and Zak immediately put his front paws on the counter. I have been handing them out as treats. I have never had problems with them eating but I did get a bag of Wellness lamb and Zak vomited it up just after he ate it. I am really excited about this food.

Michele, what is the percentage of protein in that food? I tried to find that information on the website and couldn't find the breakdown. I found the ingredients, which are impressive, but I have to worry about the amount of protein since Edan's sensitive stomach can't handle high protein foods.

I agree with Danielle too. Sometimes they go through weird phases. Bailey went through periods where she wasn't interested in food. She eventually got over it.

If you are thinking about new food...I have actually been looking in Go! and Now! Their Go! Salmon is a limited ingredient food. I emailed them and asked for a sample. I believe BarbV feeds her dogs Now!

California Natural is a limited ingredient food, if Trapp doesn't have any digestive issues or allergies, then you might want to look at something else.

Yes, my dogs get Now! and seem to enjoy it.

Bacca went through phases like this last year....he would have been about the same age as Smudge, I'm guessing....just over 1 year. I consulted my breeder about it, and she told me that they go through "rebellious" phases where they just turn off food. Of course, all this was going on at the same time as his other health issues, so its impossible to tell. All I can say is on the new food and his meds, he's mostly a little hog! The only time he gets funny about his food is when we get home from the cottage every Sunday afternoon. We come in and I feed the boys. Bacca will go hide in the living room and refuse to come to his dish, but if I put it down in front of him, he'll eat it right away. Our pups are funny....they get these little fixations which are really hard to pinpoint the "why".

Don't discount health issues entirely, however. With Smudge's history, it may not be a bad idea to get some blood work done at his next check up.

I'm an idiot....for some reason, I thought this thread was posted by Jessica (Smudge). I just realized it was Michele (Trapp). Oh well, the age thing still applies and the health check as well. Sorry about that!
